Social Media Searches Now Factored into College Admissions Decisions

Social-NetworkingUniversities and colleges are now jumping on the social media bandwagon in hopes of using sites such as Facebook and Twitter to screen their prospective students. According to a recent Kaplan survey, 41% of law school admissions employees have searched social media sites to learn more about the applicants.

The survey covered 128 of 200 American Bar Association-accredited law schools. The survey goes on to say that 12% of college admissions officers and 14% of business school admissions officers found something online that negatively impacted an applicant’s admission to that college. Read More
